Christine Maentz Balloon Pop ArtistChildren’s Entertainer in Knoxville

Hi, I’m Christine Maentz, a.k.a. Ms.Tickle, and I’m a children’s entertainer serving Knoxville and the surrounding areas.

I started entertaining kids late in life. In my mid-fifties, I found a passion for face painting and was happy to realize that there was no age limit to excel in this industry. What’s ironic is that I didn’t realize this was something I would enjoy so much!

Happily married and “Grandma” to 12 of the most special kids I know. We have a very busy life being active members of our Church. In 2016 my husband was ordained a Permanent Deacon after almost 5 years of study. I’m so very proud of him!

My hobby career began when our church picnic committee was searching for an affordable face painter for our annual picnic. Though no one volunteered for the job, I truly felt this had to be made available to our kids, regardless of the skill levels. With minimal artistic talents, my only experience was simple doodling during my high school years!  But at least it was something!

On Amazon, I found an inexpensive but professional starter kit which allowed me to experiment with various techniques, I fell in love immediately with this form of art! The painting itself was a blast but what brought me the most pleasure was seeing the joy and amazement in the eyes of the little children I painted. And I wasn’t even all that good at it!

Improving and adding skills

Balloon Pop ArtistSince then I’ve taken many professional classes and seminars and I stay up to date on what’s up and coming in the face painting industry.

As if this wasn’t enough, I also took up balloon twisting and puppetry and very recently expanded my services to kids shows, which I’ve grown very passionate about.

Just recently my husband & I retired which allows me to dedicate more time to making kids smile… whether it be with face painting, balloons or Ms. Tickle’s fun magic show!

I’m very proud of my most recent endeavor. In March of 2017, I was appointed by Judge Kenlyn Foster of Blount County as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate)…

CASA volunteers are everyday citizens that judges appoint to advocate for the safety and well-being of children who have been removed from their homes due to parental abuse and neglect. They stand up for these children and change their lives.

As Knoxville’s only “Balloon Pop Artist”, I look forward to entertaining your little guests and creating lasting fun memories for all!
